Coffeyville High School senior Kaylin Caron enters her final season ready to embrace a larger leadership role and guide a new team toward big goals. A versatile point guard and shooting guard, Caron brings scoring ability, court vision, and experience to a roster that will rely heavily on her presence and poise.
For Caron, leadership is at the heart of her personal mission this year. “My individual goal this season is to be a leader,” she said, emphasizing her commitment to elevating the people around her. “A team goal would be to make those around me better.”
With a new group learning to mesh on the court, she knows one of the biggest challenges will be building chemistry while competing for a league title, a challenge she’s ready to tackle head-on.
Her offseason was packed with preparation. Competing with Hoops Elite, a Caney-based travel team, Caron sharpened two key elements of her game, both ball handling and a quicker shot release. She also attended camps to refine these skills, laying the groundwork for a more aggressive senior season.
Caron comes off a strong junior year where she averaged 10.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. While she aims to continue scoring at a high level, her focus this season is on boosting her assists and rebounds, demonstrating her growth as a complete, team-oriented guard.
Off the court, Caron maintains a packed schedule playing basketball in the winter, track in the spring, and is involved in multiple school clubs. Looking ahead, she plans to continue playing basketball at the next level while pursuing a degree in biology, with aspirations of becoming a physician assistant.
With determination, skill, and a commitment to lifting her team, Kaylin Caron is set to make her senior season one to remember.
