Derby High School senior Tobin Snider is ready to make his final season one to remember. As the Panthers’ center, Snider plays a key role on the court, bringing size, strength, and leadership to a team with championship aspirations.

“My goals are getting this team a championship and playing my role the best I can for this team,” Snider said. His focus on teamwork and consistency makes him a cornerstone for Derby as they chase another deep postseason run.

Snider is especially excited for the challenges that come with facing tough competition. “I’m looking forward to playing Maize South and going up to Blue Valley Northwest and playing up there,” he said. Both games promise to be high-energy matchups that will test Derby’s readiness for state-level competition.

Over the offseason, Snider stayed committed to improving his physical and technical game. “I was working on my body and my post game all offseason,” he said. That dedication to strength and fundamentals should help him dominate inside against some of Kansas’ top opponents.

Looking back on last year, Snider takes pride in what the team accomplished. “Our overall record was 21-2, and I like that stat because it’s Derby’s best record ever,” he said. That success has only motivated him and his teammates to aim even higher this season.

After graduation, Snider hopes to take his basketball skills to the collegiate level and continue his journey on the court. Focused, disciplined, and determined, he’s prepared to leave everything he has on the floor in pursuit of a state title for Derby.
