Fredonia’s Kadyn Ellis – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Tammy Baker Shelter Insurance

By Angela Brunk

Fredonia High School senior Kadyn Ellis is gearing up for a strong final season as a key member of the Yellowjackets football team. A dynamic two-way player, Ellis lines up at safety on defense and wide receiver on offense, bringing leadership, intensity, and experience to both sides of the ball.

As he enters his senior campaign, Ellis has his sights set on several major goals. He wants to earn All-State, All-District, and All-League honors. All three major honors for any high school senior to receive.

Ellis is especially looking forward to matchups against Neodesha and Cherryvale, two key rivals on Fredonia’s schedule. Both matchups bring extra excitement and intensity to the game.

Ellis put in serious work over the offseason, attending camps throughout the summer in hopes of improving on an impressive junior season. Last season, Ellis made a big impact on defense, finishing with 73 tackles, 5 sacks, 8 pass breakups, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, and 1 safety. Highlighting Ellis’ stats shows his powerful playmaking ability.

Off the field, Ellis is involved in baseball during the spring season and FCCLA. Ellis is already thinking ahead to life after high school. After graduation this spring, he plans to attend college. Although he is currently undecided on which college to attend, he does know he wants to pursue a career as a physical therapist.

With his final high school season underway, Kadyn Ellis is ready to leave it all on the field and leave a lasting mark on Fredonia football.
