Independence High School senior Colton Minick enters his final wrestling season with focus, determination, and a clear vision for success. Competing in the 120-pound weight class, Minick has established himself as a driven athlete whose work ethic continues to elevate both his personal performance and his team.

Coming off a strong junior season, Minick has set ambitious goals for his final year. He wants to finish in the top three at the state tournament, with hopes of ultimately claiming a state championship title. In addition to his individual aspirations, he is committed to helping Independence secure the SEK league championship, a goal he believes is within reach.

This offseason, Minick dedicated himself to improving three times more than last year, focusing heavily on building strength and refining technique. He also attended multiple wrestling camps, sharpening his skills and gaining valuable experience against high-level competition.

One of the accomplishments he takes the most pride in is winning regionals for the second straight year, an achievement that boosted his confidence heading into the state tournament and reinforced his belief that he can compete with anyone in Kansas.

Looking beyond high school, Minick plans to continue wrestling in college, using the sport as a foundation for personal development and future opportunity. He intends to pursue a career as an electrical lineman. Outside of wrestling, Minick is also a dedicated baseball player, showcasing his versatility and athleticism.

With big goals ahead, Colton Minick is poised for a standout senior season, one built on dedication and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
