Kingman’s Caylor Helm – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Jon Wollen State Farm

By Hayden Swope

Kingman’s Caylor Helm is entering her senior season with a sharpened focus and a commitment to strengthening every part of her game for a successful season.

“I am working on improving my defense and rebounding this season,” Helm said. “I have focused strongly on offense in the past and this year in practices. I’m working on moving my feet quicker and with stronger ball pressure.”

With big goals ahead, Helm hopes both she and her team can rise to the challenge.

“I’m hoping this season we can work hard, prove everyone wrong, and make a run in the state tournament,” Helm said. “Personally I’m hoping to be more confident in my shot and have at least eight rebounds every game.”

As she steps into her final year, Helm is embracing the excitement that comes with being a senior leader.

“I am very excited for this season because it is my senior year,” Helm said. “I’m going to put my heart into every game and not have any regrets. This team is special to me because we are heavy on the younger girls but we all have a great time together and always work hard.”

There’s also one matchup this season she already has circled on her calendar.

“I am definitely looking forward to playing the Cheney Cardinals,” Helm said. “Always a big fight against them.”

Looking ahead, Helm already has her future plans in motion beyond high school, and will continue her athletic journey.

“I plan to play softball at Barton Community College and major in Business Leadership,” Helm said.
