Coming into his second year at Kingman, Logan Birkenbaugh has made a huge impression on head coach Tanner Hageman.
“Logan is a coach’s dream to coach. He is extremely dedicated to his sports as well as his studies. He is a loyal and reliable young man and will only continue to get better as a player. He made a significant impact on our team last year as a freshman and will look to continue making a name for himself the next few years,” Hageman said.
Birkenbaugh plays quarterback and safety for the eagles and is ready to make an even bigger impact for his team at the QB position.
“I try to be a leader as much as I can and basically run our defense as the safety, so I watch film and learn other teams tendencies from formations and use that to help align our db’s and lb’s based on that, I also run our offense as the QB, making sure guys know what they’re doing and making sure they do it right,” Birkenbaugh said.
Being a leader is not always a natural thing, it takes work, and Birkenbaugh put the work in this summer.
“I’m not the best at being a leader or loud, but a lot of my teammates look to me as a leader even with me being just a sophomore,” Birkenbaugh said. “I tried my best to help the younger guys when they were struggling and being encouraging in the weight room and pointing out good things as well as bad things guys do but in a way that can help them improve.”
