Landyn Jessee loves basketball enough to the point where he lives and breathes the game.
The Pittsburg High School junior, known by his team as “LBJ,’ says the accomplishment he is most proud of is “getting my first in-game dunk.”
“To work together and trust each other,” Jessee said, are values that hoops and track, which he also participates in at PHS, have taught him.
The best advice anyone has ever given Jesssee, he said, is “You practice how you play. This is very true.”
And then there are the people in Jessee’s life who inspire him to drive to be successful at his game.
“My favorite teacher is Mr.Moss. He has been very influential to me,” he said.
“My dad inspires me because he pushes me to be the best version of myself,” Jessee added.
Treeman Wesley is the teammate who inspires Jessee the most.
“He has brought me up and taught me so much inside and out of basketball,” Jessee said.
With two seasons remaining of his high school career, Jessee said that “getting to play with my friends and make PHS look good” is what motivates him to represent his school when he takes the court.
“I want to shout out my coach, Coach Moss,” Jesse said. “I haven’t known him for long, but he has made it clear that he is there for me on and off the court, and he always got my back.”
