Pratt’s Arley Morrell – Football Spotlight – Presented by Wichita Tractor

For Pratt senior Arley Morrell, this season has been all about legacy — one built on hard work, leadership, and relentless effort on both sides of the ball. “A big goal of mine is to be a part of the top 11 in Kansas, first team All-State for tight end and defensive end, and unanimous All-League honors,” Morrell said.

Standing 6’5.5” and 215 pounds, Morrell has been a dominant presence for the Greenbacks, making plays at tight end, defensive end, and punter. His production speaks for itself with 7 touchdowns, 39 total tackles, and 8 tackles for loss. But he’s quick to credit his teammates for their collective success. “Our team morale has been great because of how close we are as a team,” he said. “Being able to have someone be put in check and not take it to heart but learn from it has been the best thing our team has in common.”

The team’s steady improvement has been key to Pratt’s strong season. “Our offensive line has made leaps and bounds in progress from the first game to now and are improving each and every week,” Morrell said. “Our biggest goal is to make a run in the playoffs, hopefully earning a shot at state, and we practice hard each day working on little details to maximize our potential for Friday nights.”

Their run game has been unstoppable, led by rising star sophomore Cade Liggett. “Our run game has been unstopped and continues to get better every week with sophomore Cade Liggett developing into a great running back,” he said.

Morrell approaches every down with discipline and focus. “I focus on the play at hand and don’t worry about anything else but playing hard every single down,” he said. “I want people to remember me as a hard worker, and someone who cared for everyone on the team no matter who they were on the field and off the field.”

After high school, Morrell is headed to Colorado State University, where he’s committed to play football and major in Business. His mindset is simple — to leave everything on the field. “Working hard in the weight room every day and taking care of my body the best I can,” he said. “That’s how I keep myself ready to go.”
