Even in the cold, wet conditions, Derby’s passing game flourished. Quarterback Drew Kemp connected with Da’Saahn Brame for a 77-yard touchdown just 1:01 into its game with Junction City on Friday night.

Derby scored 42 unanswered points en route to the 42-14 win over Junction to improve to 10-0. Derby hasn’t given up first-half points since Game 1.

Drew Kemp and Arieus Finley added touchdowns over the next five minutes, and Finley scored three more times. Finley had 194 rushing yards on 12 carries, while Kemp completed 5 of 5 passes for 154 yards.

Cheney exacted some revenge with a 14-6 win over Wichita Collegiate. Cheney’s only loss this season was 31-7 to Collegiate on Oct. 18. Collegiate’s season ends at 8-2, while Cheney is 9-1.

Wamego scored the game-winning touchdown with 2:12 remaining in its 20-13 win over McPherson.

Manhattan earned its fifth shutout with a 49-0 win over Maize. It was Maize’s first loss since starting the season 0-4.

Conway Springs improved to 10-0 with a 21-6 win over Marion.

Garden Plain is 8-2 after a 28-0 win over Phillipsburg. It was Garden Plain’s fourth shutout.

Scott City ended Hesston‘s season after taking the lead on a field goal with 40 seconds remaining. Hesston is 8-2.

Medicine Lodge improved to 7-2 with a 22-20 overtime win over Hutchinson Trinity.

Hoisington gets the 24-14 win over Haven, which ends Haven’s season at 8-2.
