What do you love most about being a student-athlete at Washburn Rural HS? I love the understanding that my teachers have that I am a student-athlete. And I also love the conversation I have with other coaches from other sports.
What grade are you in and what is your favorite subject? I am in 11th grade and my favorite subject is English.
How long have you been playing softball and what position do you play? I have been playing softball since I was 4 for 12 years and I play centerfield and pitcher.
If you could play any other position on the field, which would it be? I would play shortstop.
What is your favorite pre-game and post game meal? My favorite pre-game meal is chick-fil-a and my favorite post game meal is taco bell with the team.
Where is your favorite place to play and why? My favorite place to play is Olathe North because I get to play against a lot of my club ball teammates.
What is your thought process at the plate? My thought process at the plate is repeating to myself phrases like “you’re the best” and “nobody better” because I have struggled with confidence up at the plate and repeating those things helps build my confidence in a semi-stressful situation. I try my best not to think of anything I need to do at the plate mechanics wise because that takes my mind off of the main goal while at the plate.
What teammate has impressed you this season? Adda Boleski has impressed me this season because she was a freshman who made a huge impact on the team and her first year of playing with the high school.
Who has been a big influence in your life? Explain. My hitting coach, Billy Baber, has been a big influence in my life because he has helped me grow my confidence at the plate and has been extremely supportive. I have only worked with him for a couple years but in that time he has helped me grow so much as a hitter and as an overall player.
What would you like to do after you graduate? After I graduate. I would like to play softball in college while studying pre-law. I would like to go on to law school to become a lawyer.
