Wichita Heights’ Jessiah Dingle – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Rikki Casey Shelter Insurance

Wichita Heights senior midfielder Jessiah Dingle was an honorable mention all-league selection last season.

But instead of focusing on stats or accolades, she knows what matters most.

“If I’m being honest, I do not look at my personal stats,” Dingle said. “I try to focus more on what the team has accomplished and what we can do better in the next game.”

As Dingle heads into her final season as a Falcon soccer player, she has many goals she hopes to accomplish.

“I want to keep the bond that I have with the team even after the season ends,” Dingle said. “They are sisters to me, and I will cherish that forever. Win or lose, I’ll have sisters for life. As for the team, I want us to be more vocal and not be afraid to hold one another accountable if someone isn’t playing well.”

From a tactical standpoint, Dingle hopes to improve on the offensive side of the ball.

“One way I worked on that in the offseason was going to the soccer field by myself to work on shooting, long balls and drills to better develop my footwork,” Dingle said.

Dingle is not just a soccer player at Heights. She wears many different hats throughout the school year.

“During the offseason, I spent my time playing club soccer with Sporting Wichita and playing basketball and flag football,” Dingle said. “I try to stay as active as I can. I also spend a lot of time in the weight room to further develop my body outside of basketball and soccer.”
