Derby football enters mandatory quarantine

UPDATE: After close contact tracing, the Derby football team’s quarantine numbers are significantly lower and the Panthers will play Salina South Friday night.

According to a report from its school newspaper, the Derby football team will be entering a mandatory quarantine for two weeks.

Two individuals closely associated with the team tested positive for COVID-19 and the Panthers will miss their next two games, including their home opener Friday against Salina South.

The report from The Panther’s Tale stated the quarantine includes all players, coaches and managers and those in close contact with the program were notified of the positive tests.
