Hillsboro’s Matthew Potucek Spotlight Presented By Kansas Department of Transportation

Hillsboro High School junior Matthew Potucek is excited to take the field for another season of Hillsboro football. The junior said the coaching staff is a big reason he and his teammates love competing for his school.

“We have great coaches and we’re all really close, and we have fun and work hard,” said Potucek.

As a personal goal this season, Potucek is working on his craft as a quarterback, which should help the team reach some high goals set for the new season.

“I want to keep becoming a better passer and help my team be competitive in each game. We want to win district and make it to the state playoffs,” said Potucek.

The three-sport athlete (football, basketball and baseball) is interested in playing sports in college, but he’s focus ed on the task at hand, which is winning games this season. Potucek said his parents are, “very supportive of me and push me to be better.” Look for Potucek and Hillsboro to turn some heads this season.
