Inman athlete chosen as Marines All-American

The Marines have chosen Thomas Evans, a two-sport athlete at Inman High School, as a Semper Fidelis All-American.

Evans was one of six Kansas students nominated and he now holds the title with 90 other students across the country.

To celebrate being chosen, Evans and the other students selected would have received an all-expenses paid trip to attend the Battles Won Academy in Washington, DC. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, that trip was cancelled.

They will also have the opportunity to hear elite guest speakers throughout sports and the industry share their life stories.

Some of the previous speakers include ESPN’s Sage Steele, Pittsburgh Steeler running back James Connor and NBA assistant coach Becky Hammon.

The objective of the Semper Fidelis program is to recognize high school students who face life’s battles with the conviction and determination to succeed.

Evans is a lineman on the Teutons’ football team and also plays baseball as well. Outside of athletics, Evans is an Eagle Scout and helps out with the local Cub’s Scout program.
