Maize girls beat Heights Wednesday night, winning 60-56.
Maize hit 6 of 8 free throws in the final period. The Eagles were able to hold off Heights, which made three three-pointers — two by Nyeh Chandler — in the fourth.
Heights hit 10 threes and had nine two-point field goals, shooting 8 of 12 from the free-throw line. Maize shot 22 of 31 from the line.
Maize’s Sydney Holmes had a game-high 19 points. Kyla Frenchers added 15 and Baylee Miller had 10.
Heights was led by Cayanna Stanley’s 17 points and Laniah Randle’s 15.
