He has been instrumental in our 27–1 record and 5A state championship.”

Prince Donnell, Bonner Springs
“Prince is a major reason for our success and does all the little things that don’t always show up in the box score. A pure point guard with a relentless motor, he always makes the extra pass, creates open looks for teammates, and is willing to guard the best player on the floor while piling up deflections. Prince has over 100 assists this season and consistently sacrifices his own statistics for the good of the team. He plays as hard as any player I have ever coached and always seems to make a big play when we need it most.”

He puts in countless hours during and outside the season to sharpen his skills, and that work shows every time he steps on the court. A large part of our success is due to Quentin’s relentless work ethic and commitment when no one is watching.”

“Tyler is our leader and the heartbeat of our team, averaging around 16 points and 9 rebounds per game. He has surpassed 1,000 career points and 800 career rebounds, leaving a lasting mark on our program. He set a school record with nine made threes in a game this year, breaking his own previous mark of eight. Avant was named to the Husky Hoops Classic and McPherson Invitational all-tournament teams and earned first team All-AVCTL honors.”

Gavin Chadwick, Derby
“Gavin was our senior captain and emotional leader. While he did not top any single statistical category, he guarded the opponent’s best guard every night in our full-court man-to-man defense and filled the leadership void after we graduated five senior starters from last year’s 21–2 team. Our 19–6 record entering state would not have been possible without his toughness, defense and leadership.”
Kolter Peterson, Doniphan West
“Kolter was a four-year starter who led us in both scoring and assists this season. He also routinely guarded the opponent’s best player, impacting the game on both ends of the floor. Kolter was a complete player and the unquestioned leader of our team.”

Charles’s increased scoring and all-around play have been a major factor in our team’s improvement and success.”

He averaged 23.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 2.4 steals and 3.2 deflections per game over 21 contests, posting eight double-doubles, one triple-double and nearly several more from the point guard spot despite constant defensive attention. Kamden is a relentless worker who spends significant extra time in the gym and weight room, and he grew as a leader by keeping the team together and holding himself to a high standard.”

Josiah Alexander, Fredonia
“Josiah was a spark off the bench who brought energy, toughness and selflessness every time he checked in. He was one of our better rebounders despite facing bigger opponents and improved his defense to guard both perimeter players and posts. Offensively, he had a knack for hitting big shots when we needed them most. Josiah truly embodies a team-first mentality and always did whatever was needed for our success.”

Piercen Huff, Hutchinson Central Christian
“Piercen is our leading scorer at 14 points per game, top rebounder at 6 boards per game and steals leader at 3 per game. He does a bit of everything — defending, scoring, and rebounding — and has been a three-year starter who played varsity minutes even as a freshman. Piercen has taken his game to another level and is a major reason for our success.”

Hunter Franz, Hutchinson Central Christian
“Hunter has been the steady leader of our team, never missing a game or practice. He has helped hold the group together through adversity with his positive attitude and consistency. Even without leading in any single statistic, Hunter is a player we can always count on.”
Blaise Dalian, Kapaun
“Blaise led us in scoring at 15.3 points per game, rebounding and three-point percentage at 43 percent. He often played only half the game due to 15 of our 25 contests being mercy-ruled and would easily average 25 points if he played full games. Blaise is also our best defender and earned first team All-City League honors.”
Rocco Keller, Kapaun
“Rocco averaged 13.6 points per game and was a reliable scoring option for us all season. Like Blaise, his numbers were limited because he rarely played full games due to frequent mercy-rule situations. He could easily have averaged 20 points per night with extended minutes.”

“Mehki is a 6-foot-2 guard/forward and three-year varsity starter who has earned honorable mention, second team and now first team all-league honors as a junior. Bennett Bargdill, Linn
“Bennett is a true difference maker who averages 10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists per game while running the show as a junior. He averages 3.2 steals per game on the season and over 5 steals per game in the last seven regular-season contests, including a 10-steal, 16-point performance. Bennett guards the opponent’s best player the full length of the court and sets the tone defensively.”

Brayden has been a varsity contributor since his freshman year and drives our success on both ends.”

“Cy averaged 14.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while shooting 65.1 percent from the field and was named AVCTL I League MVP, first team all-league and first team all-tournament at Hoopin’ on the Hill in Fayetteville. A first team all-league and second team all-state pick last year, he is one of the leading candidates for 5A Player of the Year and a Gatorade Player of the Year finalist in Kansas. Cy posted 20-plus double-figure games, a season-high 30 points versus Derby, 10 double-doubles and four more games where he was one rebound short, all while routinely facing double and triple teams. He is the ultimate team-first player who willingly passes out of pressure and puts winning above his own stats.”
Reece Pauly, Maize South
“Reece is a senior who has made a huge impact by embracing his role as our defensive stopper. He averages 4.5 points per game but had a 19-point outing against Andover Central, going 5-for-5 from three, and delivered an incredible performance against Emporia in the sub-state championship. Reece set the school record for assists per game, is on pace to break our single-season and career scoring marks, and will rank near the top in most major categories, including steals. He is an exceptional player, teammate, and student and deserves serious consideration for Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year, Mr. Basketball, and KC Metro Player of the Year.”

“JaKhai has been a steady, three-year starter for us after starting as a freshman at SM West, and he has been nothing short of outstanding. He is averaging 12 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game this season and forms a perfect one-two punch alongside Reece. His résumé includes multiple first team all-league and all-state honors across his four-year career.”

“Brady is a junior averaging 12.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 69% from the free-throw line and 36% from three. A three-year varsity player and two-year starter, he has helped us navigate a very competitive schedule to an 18–7 record, a CNC title, and success as the only 2A school in a 3A league. Brady scored a career-high 32 points this year at Columbus and continues to be a reliable playmaker.”
Jayden Brown, St. Mary’s Colgan
“Jayden is a 6-foot-3 senior averaging 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, shooting 66% from the line and 30% from three. He has been a key two-way contributor on an 18–7 team that won the CNC and competed as the lone 2A school in a 3A league. Jayden’s length and energy have made a tremendous impact on the defensive end.”

Iyzrel Graham, Sunrise Christian Academy
“Iyzrel earned first team all-MAPL honors, was named Conference Defensive Player of the Year, and was our team MVP and Defensive Player of the Year. He averaged 9.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 2.6 steals per game while anchoring us on both ends. His playmaking, defense, and leadership set the tone for our team.”

Canaan McElroy, Sunrise Christian Academy
“Canaan is our Offensive Player of the Year for the third straight season and has led us in scoring for three consecutive years. The career leading scorer at Sunrise, he averaged 15 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game as a senior. Canaan’s consistency and scoring ability have been the foundation of our offense.”

Bryson McComas, Topeka
“Bryson is a senior captain and versatile 6-foot-5 wing who played point guard, shooting guard, and small forward and averaged 15.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He led Topeka High in scoring, provided secondary playmaking, rebounded at a high level and helped elevate the program to a 12–11 regular-season record after years of struggles. Bryson consistently stepped up in big games with double-doubles, high-scoring performances, and clutch plays that changed momentum.”

Elisha Guest, Topeka
“Elisha is a senior guard who averaged 11.5 points and 4.0 assists per game, knocking down 59 threes as a reliable perimeter threat. Managing Type 1 diabetes, he shows remarkable resilience, playing with relentless energy and toughness on both ends of the floor despite his 5-foot-6, 140-pound frame. Elisha’s shooting, playmaking, and multiple 20-plus point games gave our team a spark whenever we needed it.”

Vladon Crawford, Trego Community
“Vladon is one of the best freshmen in Kansas and led our team in nearly every statistical category, averaging 15.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.6 steals and 74% from the line and 44% shooting from the field. He posted standout performances like a 30-point game against Phillipsburg, a triple-double versus Ellis, and a game-winning steal and finish against Russell. Constantly targeted by the opponent’s best defenders, Vladon’s basketball IQ, competitiveness, and coachability make him a dream player to lead our program into the future.”

Jordan Hornecker, Udall
“Jordan was the leader of our team and cared only about winning, not his own stats. From the summer on, he organized pickup runs and got his teammates in the gym 3–4 times a week, helping us jump from three wins last year to nine this season. On the court he averaged 14.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game, stretching defenses with his deep range and leaving a noticeable void whenever he was off the floor.”

James Hornecker, Udall
“James led our team in numerous statistical categories, showing a natural ability to get to the rim that makes him exciting to watch. He paced us in points, field-goal percentage, assists, steals and three-point percentage, while ranking second in rebounds and blocks. His impact was tremendous all season, averaging 15.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3 assists, 2.2 steals, 0.7 blocks and 30% from three on 45% shooting overall. I am excited to see what steps he takes as a senior and believe he can emerge as a primary leader for our group next year.
Karsten Breiner, Wabaunsee
“Karsten is a senior whose story is nothing short of remarkable. After a serious vehicle accident in June 2025 led to a below-the-knee amputation of his left leg, he returned to play nose tackle in football by October 31. He then moved straight into basketball, practicing and playing in all 24 games and starting 22 of them as our post, averaging 4 points and 5 rebounds in 20 minutes per game. His grit, courage, determination and strong will have been a difference maker for our program and an inspiration to me in my 40 years of coaching.”

A.J. Batiste, Wichita Collegiate
“A.J. has been our offensive leader and a constant highlight this season, driving us to a 21–1 regular-season record and a top sub-state seed. He scored his 1,000th career point on Feb. 13 against Wellington and finished the regular season with 429 points in 22 games, averaging 19.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per contest. His athleticism and ability to score in a variety of ways make him one of the most dangerous players in our area.”

Kamari Jennings, Wichita Collegiate
“Kamari has been the steady engine for the Spartans, setting the standard with his work ethic on and off the court. He is shooting 38.6% from three on 130-plus attempts and averages 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.2 steals per game, providing rare rebounding from the point guard spot. Without his consistent energy and effort on both ends, we would not be sitting at 21–1 and holding the No. 1 sub-state seed.”

Sebastian Hines-Turner, Wichita Collegiate
After missing all of last season with an Achilles injury, Sebastian has returned as our Swiss Army knife and one of the best defenders in the area. He ranks second on the team in scoring and first in assists, steals and rebounds, averaging 18.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 4.3 steals per game, and he scored his 1,000th career point on Feb. 17 against El Dorado. His ability to adjust his game nightly to whatever the team needs has been central to our 21–1 regular-season record.
