Wellington’s Easton Lynnes – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by SCCDAT

By Matt Browning

Wellington’s Easton Lynnes was influenced by family members to join the Wellington SCCDAT club.

“I started with SCCDAT at the start of my freshman year in Aug 2024,” Lynnes said. “I was exposed to SCCDAT from my older brother and sister, and knew the positive experiences they had with the organization.”

One of Lynnes’ motivations for joining SCCDAT was to help make Wellington High School a more positive place for the student body.

“The SCCDAT program allowed me to actively contribute to creating a more positive and supportive environment at our high school,” Lynnes said. “I’ve been involved in participating in events like bowling outings and community projects, which help bring students together in a fun and meaningful way. The club is involved in helping promote mental health awareness and making safe, drug-free choices.”

Lynnes believes his involvement has not only impacted the school environment, but also his own future.

“I feel SCCDAT has benefited me by helping me grow as a leader and a positive role model for others,” Lynnes said.

Lynnes said any student interested in joining SCCDAT should consider it for the camaraderie.

“I would recommend joining because it is a great way to get involved in the school and community,” Lynnes said.
