The Bishop Ward boys soccer program enters the 2026 season looking to continue a tradition of success that has made the Cyclones a consistent presence in Kansas high school soccer.
Antonio Subasic, a Bishop Ward alumnus, continues to lead the program. He is joined on the coaching staff by Tom Auge and Oscar Solis, another Bishop Ward graduate.
Bishop Ward finished 11-7 overall and 8-2 in Kaw Valley League play during the 2025 season. The Cyclones advanced to the postseason before falling 2-0 to Heritage Christian Academy.
The Cyclones bring back a decent amount of talent that should keep them competitive in Class 4A-1A.
Returning for Bishop Ward is first team all-leauge defender Bayron Leiva-Guel, as well as honorable mention all-league defender Andrew Robinson. So the strength for Bishop Ward will certainly be its defense.
The 2026 season has gotten off to a challenging start, with Bishop Ward facing a demanding schedule that includes Sumner Academy, Bishop Miege, Heritage Christian Academy and Maranatha Christian Academy. The Cyclones picked up wins over Heritage Christian and Lutheran in September.
With a program that has consistently competed for regional and state success, Bishop Ward will look to use the remainder of the season to build momentum heading into the postseason.
