The Lansing Lions enter the 2026 volleyball season looking to build on one of the program’s strongest recent seasons.
Lansing finished 31-12 in 2025, including a 9-0 record in United Kansas Conference play. The Lions advanced to the Class 5A state tournament in Salina, where they finished third.
That postseason experience gives Lansing a strong foundation as the Lions begin another competitive schedule.
The Lions return to the court in 2026 with a roster that includes seniors Halle Laincz and Sami Gray, along with junior Brooklyn Andrews.
Laincz was a first team all-league selection last season, while Gray was honorable mention. Andrews was second team all-league.
Lansing has continued to test itself against some of the top programs in the Kansas City area. The 2026 schedule includes matchups with teams such as Bishop Miege, Blue Valley Southwest, Shawnee Mission Northwest, Piper and De Soto.
The Lions also have plenty of recent postseason experience to draw from. Lansing reached the Class 5A state tournament in 2025 and competed for a state championship before earning a third-place finish.
With another challenging schedule ahead, Lansing will look to combine that experience with contributions from its returning players and newcomers.
