The McPherson boys basketball program has won back-to-back state championships and returning all-state guard Jett Pyle’s sole focus this season is to make it three in a row.
“I am most excited for playing with my friends and defending our state championship one last year,” Pyle said. “I want to have a three-peat as a state champion and Individually I’m looking to be the best player I can be and doing whatever it takes for my team to win.”
Pyle averaged 14 points, four rebounds and four assists per game last season but those numbers are not satisfying for Pyle, who is expected to be one of the top players in Class 4A this season.
“I have been working out to get stronger and more athletic and playing basketball to get more skilled every day,” Pyle said. “I wanted to get stronger and more athletic for the upcoming season.”
There are a number of colleges who are interested in Pyle next year, but he has not made a decision at the time of this profile being written, but he plans on basketball being a big part of his life.
“I plan to play basketball in college and major in business and eventually run my own business,” Pyle said. “I am undecided where I want to go.”
