Chloe Compton, a junior at Fredonia High School, is entering the upcoming basketball season with excitement, optimism, and a strong team-first mindset. As part of a young roster, Compton sees this year as a major opportunity for growth. She believes that with consistent effort, commitment, and the right mindset, each practice and game can help the team improve, build chemistry, and develop into a competitive unit capable of accomplishing great things.
To prepare for the season, Compton stayed active throughout the summer and attended several basketball camps. These experiences helped her sharpen her skills, stay in game shape, and prepare mentally for the challenges of the season. Her dedication in the offseason reflects her commitment not only to improving individually but also to being ready to contribute to her team’s success.
One of Compton’s main focuses this year is continuing to grow as a leader. She strives to support her teammates, hold herself accountable, and step into whatever role the team needs. Leadership is something she has worked on for a long time, both in athletics and in her everyday life, and she hopes to make a positive impact through her attitude and work ethic.
Individually, Compton’s goals include improving her shooting consistency and accuracy, becoming a stronger defensive player, and continuing to develop as a leader on and off the court.
As a team, she wants the group to grow not only as athletes but as people, while building strong connections, improving chemistry, and supporting one another beyond basketball.
Outside of basketball, Compton is heavily involved at Fredonia High School, participating in volleyball, softball, STUCCO, Renaissance, Select Singers, Youth Philanthropy, and FCCLA.
Looking ahead, she hopes to continue playing volleyball at the college level and is currently exploring schools that fit both her academic and athletic goals.
