Gabe Shaffer – Valley Center

Gabe is the only returning 5A state placer from last season.  He has been working all off season with the focus of returning and improving on his 12th place finish in doubles.

Isaac Anderson – Valley Center

Isaac is a sophomore and played mostly doubles in middle school.  We moved him to singles as a freshman and his game really came around.  We think he will be competing for a varsity spot this year.

Drew Alexander – Valley Center

Drew is a senior and has been out all four years.  He always works hard and is very passionate about tennis.  We will look to him for senior leadership this season.

Luke Hoy – Valley Center

Luke is a senior and has been out all four years. He plays mostly doubles and has had a different partner every year.  He never complains and has the greatest attitude. He qualified for state last year and plans to return again this year; but with a different partner.

Tyler Bradt – Derby

Tyler is a four-year starter and senior who embodies the culture and character we look for on the team. Tyler has been grinding through tough singles seasons and earned his spot at 6A state last season for the first time! He has big aspirations and the ability to realize them!

Johnny Hula – Derby

Johnny is a sophomore who is improving with every ball he strikes. He’s a quick study, competitive, and willing to play the role that is best for the team. Natural athlete that has a feel for the sport.

Taylor Broberg – Derby

Taylor is a four-year starter and senior who is a leader by example. His effort is unmatched and we can give him as an example for our younger players. We can count on him to lead and help when needed.

Caleb Rogers – Derby

Caleb (senior) is kind and welcoming to every member of the team. He is a natural leader, but doesn’t need to be front and center. We appreciate Caleb’s character and use him as an example often.

Bryson Archer & Alex Berger – McPherson

These guys have been my top doubles team that finished 4th at state last year!  They look to be a top four team again this year.

Sophomore Class – McPherson

There are multiple sophomores that have a chance to fill in the rest of our top 6:

Hayden Siemens, Mason Eisenbarth, Rogan Jones and Grayson Koenig

Levi Mies – Conway Springs

Senior who has qualified for state three years in a row. First two years in doubles, last year in singles. Has really worked hard on his game in the off-season and should be one of the top 3-2-1 A players in the area.

Asher Deutschendorf – Hesston

Asher is going to be the winningest player in program history, which is pretty impressive given what Hesston has done in tennis over the years. He came in as a really good freshman, so he has compiled over 30 wins in each of his three seasons so far. As a freshman, he finished third in the state with Micah Dahlsten, and then that combination became state champions the next year in 2023. Last year, Asher and Braiden Liechty finished third in the state again. He’s got a ton of game, great hands, and can both overpower his opponents while also showing really good touch around the net as well.

Janmejay Patwardhan – Hesston

JJ qualified for state last year as a freshman and really grew a lot in the last month of the season. I struggled to find the right doubles combinations last year, so many of the early varsity tournaments he played were with a different partner, and he took it all in stride. Once he learned some more patience, he started to figure out his game and beat some opponents in the postseason that he had lost to earlier.

Theron Mays & Lane Eck – El Dorado

Theron and Lane placed sixth at state last year as freshmen.

Jaxon Post – Andover Central

Jaxon finished as the sixth medalist in 5A singles in 2024.  He has been a leader in the offseason, not only putting in work on the court but also supporting our younger players.

Elias Kachelmeier, Henry Walker & Will Schaefer – Andover Central

All three of these young men are sophomores and have a passion for tennis.  Elias and Henry qualified for state in 2024 and finished as the 10th medalists in 5A doubles.  Will was a letterman in 2024 as a freshman and finished the year with 22 varsity singles victories.  All three of these underclassmen have a bright future ahead of them.
