Bishop Carroll’s Judd Blasi – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Old Chicago

By Hayden Swope

Bishop Carroll’s Judd Blasi is excited about the opportunity to help lead his team to success while also pursuing personal and team milestones. Last season, Blasi was a first-team All-League selection at second base.

“I’m most excited to help lead my guys to a state championship and get Coach Ebright his 500th career win,” Blasi said.

During the offseason, Blasi focused on strength and skill development to prepare for the upcoming season.

“I have been working out with my trainer Jordan Knox at Untamed Athletes and doing infield training with Aaron Westerman at Midwest Glove Works,” Blasi said.

Offensively, Blasi is looking to increase his power and produce more extra-base hits this year.

“I want to work on more gap-to-gap power and getting more doubles and triples,” Blasi said. “I worked on that by getting stronger and faster in the weight room with my trainer.”

Heading into the season, Blasi has ambitious goals for both himself and the team.

“My goals are to win a state and league championship, get Coach Ebright to 500 career wins, and break the Bishop Carroll batting average record,” he said.

Following high school, Blasi plans to continue his baseball career at the collegiate level.

“I am going to Barton Community College to continue playing baseball,” Blasi said.
