Buhler’s Macey Parks – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by PrairieStar Health Center

Buhler’s Macey Parks is ready to take on the new wrestling season to show off her determination and every part of her skillset.

“I am preparing for my season by staying super focused and drilling the things I am good at to make them muscle memory,” Parks said. “A weakness that I wanted to improve on was my bottom work.”

With big ambitions ahead, Parks has her eyes on major milestones for both this season and her career.

“One major goal I have for myself this year is another state championship,” Parks said. “Another goal I have set for myself is meeting 150 career wins.”

Even with the high stakes, it’s the day-to-day training and work with her team that Parks treasures most.

“I am most excited about spending time with my team and coaches,” Parks said. “Working on my techniques and getting better.”

Competing at a new weight brings fresh faces to the mat, but Parks is eager for every challenge that comes her way.

“At a new weight this year I don’t know many of the girls that I will wrestle but I am excited for every match,” Parks said.

Winning it all and getting to share the moment with some of her favorite people will forever hold a special place in Parks.

“My most memorable moment was when I won state and my team and family were there to celebrate with me,” Parks said. “My favorite part of state was just running to my coaches because I worked all year for that moment.”
