Eden Hill, a junior at Fredonia High School, continues to set a high standard as a varsity 135-pound wrestler. After suffering an injury during Women’s Duals Nationals that sidelined her from competition, Hill is eager and motivated to return to the mat at Fredonia’s first meet of 2026.
Hill has trained with the Fredonia Wrestling Academy (FWA) for the past three years, during which time she has competed in state tournaments in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. Her accomplishments include becoming a Greco-Roman state champion and earning two second-place finishes in freestyle over the last two years. She has also qualified each year for the Kansas Women’s National Dual Team and represented Kansas at Fargo Nationals.
One area Hill continues to focus on is improving her upper-body strength. Training alongside high-level athletes during the offseason has helped her make significant gains. She has also made major strides in rehabilitating her injured elbow, feeling stronger and more confident heading into the season. Her overarching goal is to prove that progress, consistency, and extra effort always pay off on the mat.
Last season, Hill posted a 24–4 record and collected numerous titles, including home tournament champion, Kan-Okla champion, TVL champion, and regional champion. She entered the state tournament as the No. 1 seed and reached the blood round of the state tournament.
Looking ahead, Hill plans to explore collegiate wrestling opportunities. If that path doesn’t unfold, she intends to attend the University of Kansas to pursue a career as a sports medicine physician. Outside of wrestling, she has danced for 14 years, serves as FCCLA president, co–vice president of the junior class, a Renaissance Ambassador, and a supervisor at the student-led coffee shop called The Hive.
