Maize South’s girls bowling team made themselves known at last year’s the 5A state championship. Placing second as a team, the Mavericks also had two individual placers.
Coming off of such an exciting victory, the work didn’t stop there. After graduating a few seniors, new leaders came to step up to the plate for Maize South.
One of those seniors getting to step up this season is Kenzie Kalb, who was a big part of the runner-up team last season, and was also one of the individual placers at the state meet.
Taking seventh as an individual, Kalb returns for the Mavericks and again has high hopes not only for herself, but for the team as well.
As tryouts for the team just concluded, the first meet is right around the corner, and Kalb is ready to take the lanes once again.
