Oswego High School senior Owen Jackson enters his final season determined to elevate both his game and his team, building on years of hard work and steady improvement. As a shooting guard, Jackson’s offseason began the moment last season ended.
He spent hours in the gym, whether in one-on-one training sessions or playing at the local rec, driven by genuine love for the sport. Summer brought even more opportunities for development as the team, now a mix of returning players and new faces after losing key seniors, competed extensively, including valuable games against larger Oklahoma schools.
Last season, Jackson put together an impressive statistical year, averaging 14 points per game along with 50 steals and 19 blocks. This year, he hopes to boost his scoring numbers even further while continuing to anchor his team defensively.
Team goals are equally important to him. With several committed players, Jackson hopes Oswego can continue building on previous seasons, improving each week, and pushing deeper into competition. Individually, he has set his sights on playing aggressively and confidently in pursuit of a major milestone of reaching 1,000 career points.
Oswego’s updated schedule brings added excitement, as the Three Rivers League reunites into one group, providing tougher competition and a clearer path toward a league title.
Off the court, Jackson is heavily involved in school activities. He plays football in the fall, basketball in the winter, and both golf and track in the spring. He serves as President of K-Club, Vice President of Student Council, and takes Automotive Collision Repair classes through Coffeyville Community College. After graduation, he hopes to attend Pittsburg State University to study Construction Engineering and, if the opportunity arises, continue his basketball career.
