Jaydon Bray, a sophomore at Wyandotte High School, is gearing up for the upcoming basketball season. A versatile combo guard, Bray fills multiple roles on the court, playing shooting guard, point guard, and small forward. His ability to adapt to different positions allows him to contribute wherever the team needs him most.
What excites Bray most about this season is the progression he expects to see as the year unfolds. He looks forward to the lessons that come with competition, the unbreakable bonds built through hard work, and the chemistry that develops as players grow more comfortable with each other’s play styles. For Bray, the season is about more than wins and losses; it’s about growth and trust.
Preparation has been a major focus for Bray. He has consistently attended summer and spring workouts since last year and competed in AAU basketball during the offseason. These experiences have helped him adjust to game-like situations, high expectations, and the pressure that comes with stepping into a leadership role.
One of his main areas of improvement this season is playmaking and shot selection. Bray wants to make his teammates better and be someone his team can rely on in crucial moments, especially late in games.
His goals for the season include overcoming adversity in a positive way and helping change the program’s past losing record. Individually, he wants to make his game known and become an unstoppable presence on the court. As a freshman, Bray averaged 3.2 points and 1.7 rebounds per game, improving to 5.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per game over the final six games while shooting 45% from the field.
Looking ahead, Bray hopes to be recruited to play college basketball. He also stays active in football and track, continuing to build his athletic foundation year-round.
