Kapaun, McPherson and Collegiate earn trophies at state girls tennis

Andover won the Class 5A girls tennis team title with 46 points, 19 points better than second place Salina Central. Kapaun Mount Carmel was third.

Kapaun senior Reagan Boleski won the singles title.

In Class 4A, McPherson won the team title with 44 points, while Wellington took second with 25 points, edging Topeka Hayden, which also had 25 points.

McPherson’s Patty Huerta and Perrin Schneider won the doubles title, beating their teammates, Maddie Dobson and Sydney Achilles.

Trinity Academy’s Darcy Dunne and Sophia Majors took third, beating Jensen Lynnes and Lyric Cornejo from Wellington.

Wichita Collegiate won the Class 3-2-1A title with 44 points, 26 points better than second-place Smoky Valley. Wichita Independent was third.

Collegiate junior Emma Mantovani won the singles title, Independent senior Lilly Meier was third.

Collegiate also won the doubles title with Lily Conrad and Emma Graham, who beat Conway Springs’ Loren May and Haylee Osner.
