Hesston’s Jackson Fry – Poll Winner Presented By Hutchinson Community College

By Hayden Swope

Hesston’s Jackson Fry has been a standout athlete on both sides of the ball for Swathers. The two-way starter was an honorable mention all-league wide receiver last season.

“I am most excited for our team this season,” Fry said. “I believe our guys will fight for each other no matter what. We have a brotherhood that will be exciting to see this year.”

To prepare for the season, Fry spent hours on and off the field, working with different coaches, trainers, and teammates.

“This off season I’ve been working and going to football camps all over,” Fry said. “I’ve gone to camps in Kansas, Iowa, and Missouri. Our team has been working out all summer and we’ve been working together in the evenings. One ability I’ve been working on this summer is my footwork. I didn’t have the best footwork last season but working all summer on it, I believe my footwork will be better this year.”

While he does hope to continue on with his own successes, Fry has aspirations to help lead his team to some November football.

“Individual goals I have for myself this season would be to lead the CKL in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns,” Fry said. “For our team my goal for us is to make a deep run in the playoffs. We have a team capable of doing that. We just need to put the pieces together.”

Keeping his options for his future open, Fry does hope to continue playing and training after high school.

“My future plans for myself are to go play college football at a higher level,” Fry said. “I’m not set on what I want to do in college but I know college football is what I want to do.”
