VYPE spoke with Ashley Prochazka to talk about the upcoming track season.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
This track season I would like to PR in both the 1600m and 3200m run. I also want to qualify for state in both of those events as well.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
I went to Destin, Florida back in January. My family stayed there for a couple of weeks and we did lots of shopping, swimming, and much more!
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
Mrs. Richardson was my 2nd-grade teacher. She was always so nice to me and made class lots of fun. I remember inviting her to my birthday party at the skating rink that year and she came!
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
It had been a goal of mine to run a sub 20 minute 5k for a long time and I ran 19:55 my junior year at my home meet. I was beyond excited that I broke that goal of mine and it makes it even better that it happened on my home course!
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Jentrie Alderson and Joni Schroeder are in college now, but for years they were both girls that I looked up to so much. I still look up to them! They are both extremely driven people who always were there to encourage me. I’m very thankful that I was able to be teammates with them and to also win a couple of state titles together as a team!
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
I would choose to go to the Bahamas and bring my friend Savannah.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
I would spend the $500 on running clothes and running shoes.
