Salina South’s Abram Jennings – Poll Winner Presented By WSU Tech

By Matt Browning

Abram Jennings of Salina South is in the unique position of transferring across town for his senior season. Last season, Jennings was an all-league honorable mention selection last season for Salina Central.

“I’m most excited about the team’s potential and getting better as a player this season,” Jennings said. “This is my first and last year at Salina South and I can already tell we’re going to be a unique group of boys. We’re all very competitive and passionate about the game. I’ve enjoyed every practice and training we’ve done so far and look forward to the rest of the season.”

There are several areas of Jennings’ game that he wanted to improve on throughout the offseason.

“My focus this season is to improve my technical skills and be more dangerous,” Jennings said. “I’m always trying to improve my physical health as well as my leadership skills on the field.”

Trying to balance between being a new player and a leader has been challenging for Jennings, but that has not stopped him from making goals for the year.

“I believe the sky’s the limit and my big goal is to win state this year with the boys,” Jennings said. “My more personal goals include being the team with the least number of goals conceded, being a leader on and off the field for my teammates, and being an all-state player.”
