The Panthers finished their season with a 5-3 win and a 23-2 record.
Class 5A
Valley Center became back-to-back state champions after a 16-8 win over AVCTL foe Goddard Eisenhower.
Class 4A
Clearwater finished fourth place losing in the third-place game to Eudora 1-0.
Class 3A
Coming into state as the one seed Haven took care of business against Scott City, winning 17-2.
The Wildcats fell to Santa Fe Trail 2-0.
“The 3rd place game against Southeast of Saline was strange, as those games can often be,” head coach Darin Ashworth said, “Not a lot of emotion, just going through the motions, a game that had to be played. After the game was over, there wasn’t much celebrating or excitement — the semifinal game was incredibly intense, and losing it really drained us. There weren’t a lot of emotions left.”
Haven finished the season right with an 8-3 win over Southeast of Saline.
