The Derby Panthers continued their winning ways to finish the regular season 7-1.
After leading 49-0 at halftime, the Panthers’ starters would get to hang out once again as the Panthers went on to win 55-7. In the first half, Derby quarterback Easton Splane had two rushing touchdowns, threw for a 47-yard TD to Da’Saahn Brame, while Derek Hubbard and Colton Ruedy each had rushing touchdowns and Arieus Finley had two. Splane finished with 126 passing yards, completing 6 of 7 passes, and had 85 rushing yards. Hubbard had 98 rushing yards.
Goddard played spoiler to the Eisenhower Tigers’ hopes of an undefeated regular season after a 22-14 win. The Lions move to 6-2.
Cheney completes the undefeated regular season with a 39-12 over Halstead.
A week out from beating Andale to end the nation’s longest win streak, the Cardinals will be one of the favorites in 3A. Cheney’s Jack Voth had seven receptions for 180 yards and three touchdowns, and quarterback Josh Burdick had 286 passing yards, four touchdowns.
Andale bounces back with a 43-6 win over Pratt. The Indians finish the regular season 7-1, with their only loss coming in overtime to the Cheney Cardinals. Andale was led by Karson Butts, who had a 65-yard kickoff return to open the game. He added a receiving touchdown in the second quarter, while Gage Prosser scored on a 63-yard run and Owen Eck had four rushing touchdowns.
Hutchinson finishes its regular season 6-2 after a 34-8 win over Andover.
Collegiate ends the regular season 7-1 after a big-time win over Hesston 42-13.
Kapaun Mount Carmel took care of Wichita Heights 33-21 to finish the regular season 7-1. Charlie Chrisman led the way with two touchdowns for the Crusaders.
Salina Central ends the regular season in dominating fashion with a 70-27 win over Ark City. The Mustangs move to 6-2. Jack Gordon had 365 passing yards and five touchdowns, and Elijah Wilson had 218 rushing yards and three touchdowns for Salina Central. Ark City’s Jordey Pierce threw for 309 yards and four touchdowns.
McPherson knocked off rival Buhler 28-26 Thursday night – blocking a last-second field goal – to finish their regular season 5-3.
The Crusaders fall to 6-2.
The Wichita Northwest Grizzlies fall to the Manhattan Indians 28-24.
The Grizzlies finish the regular season 6-2, with two close losses as they look to make a deep playoff run.
Conway Springs’ Brayden Kunz had 274 rushing yards and four touchdowns in the 41-6 win over Hutchinson Trinity.
Wellington improved to 6-2 with a 54-50 win over Rose Hill, scoring with 27 seconds to go.
Garden Plain beat Kingman 28-25 as Gage Lee went 66 yards for the game-winning touchdown with 1:25 to go. Lee had 275 rushing yards and the Owls are 7-1. Kingman is 6-2.
Sedgwick beat Marion 34-28 and won its first district championship in 13 seasons, and quarterback Corey Crumrine had 293 passing yards, two touchdowns.
