A fractured scaphoid 12 months ago in his left wrist ended Brandon’s football and wrestling season. Originally thought to be OK to heal on its own, the fracture hadn’t improved by the time 2019 started. Brandon had to have surgery, and Byron Grauerholz at Salina Ortho performed the successful surgery on Jan. 24. It went so well that Brandon was able to play baseball for the Vikings in the spring. “It felt normal after awhile,” Brandon says. “I didn’t have to do rehab or anything, but I had to work on my mobility in the wrist, and how to swing a bat again.” A few follow-up visits ensured the bone had healed properly, and Brandon said he was grateful to Dr. Grauerholz and the staff at Salina Ortho for helping him get back on the field.
