


VYPE media and Shelter Insurance are proud to announce the 2024-25 boys and girls basketball Kansas players of the year – Shawnee Mission Northwest’s Keaton Wagler and Blue Valley North’s Jaliya Davis.
The award recognizes the outstanding efforts Wagler and Davis gave this season as they both led their teams to a Class 6A championship.

Wagler led his team to its second straight Class 6A title while averaging 18.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and shooting 58.5% from the field, 44.8% from three-point range, 83% from the free-throw line. He signed with Illinois.

Davis led her team to its second Class 6A title in three seasons as she averaged 25 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.3 steals, 2.1 assists. She signed with Kansas and was named to the McDonald’s All-American team.
“Teams consistently threw all kinds of defense at Jaliya Davis, but by her senior season, she was able to handle it with poise and play through. She is a smart player who was able to get to the rim – for rebounds and offensively.”
